Gifts For Seniors

On December 19th, Rental Research will be volunteering – along with Cushman & Wakefield/NorthMarq – for a great organization called Gifts For Seniors.

Gifts for Seniors began in 1994 with the realization that across the Twin Cities, hundreds of seniors were living isolated and emotionally disengaged lives. For them, the connections of family, friends and community had fallen away. A spouse had died. Children had moved away. Failing health and diminished income left them unable to reach out.

In the face of this need the human service agencies of  Hennepin County collaborated in the creation of Gifts for Seniors.  Using the model of compassionate gift giving, Gifts for Seniors developed a program that uses the energy and resources of volunteers to connect to the seniors others have forgotten.

Tour: Bloomington Police Department

Last Friday, I had the privilege to tour the Bloomington Police Department as the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce  kicked-off  their “Business Academy” which aims to engage local businesses with the public sector.  The tour was modeled after the Bloomington Police Department’s popular Citizen’s Academy.

I must say, it was really a fantastic and educational event and should be on all business owners and managers must-do list.  Be sure to check out the photos on our Facebook Page as well as stay tuned to future Bloomington Chamber of Commerce’s events.  Some may include a look at Crime Techs, K-9 Demonstrations, SWAT Team, Bomb Squad and Use of Force.

Comedy For A Cause

On Thursday, October 25th, 2012, Rental Research had the privilege of attending a very special annual event put on by the Central Minnesota Multi-Housing Association (CMMHA) at the Red Carpet Event Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  This year was the 8th Annual“Comedy For A Cause,” which benefited the Lutheran Social Services Crisis Nursery.  Over $6,000.00 was raised for the organization, which helps families in times of crisis.  Homelessness, illness  a family member’s death, addiction and other significant issues can occur to put a family in crisis, the Center steps in during these difficult times and offers a caring and safe place for these children.
