Rental Research Services amended the Notice of Adverse Action (NAA) form, which is available to all Rental Research clients to assist them in complying with the notice requirements of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

The NAA is required when adverse action is taken based in whole or in part on the information contained in your Rental Research resident screening report. Adverse action may include, but is not limited to:
a. Denying a rental application.
b. Accepting a rental application with certain conditions (increased security deposit, charging a higher rent than other applicants, etc.).

The NAA form also provides a Credit Score Disclosure. This disclosure is required if your adverse action is based in whole or in part on the credit score.

You may access the instructions for completing the NAA form and a copy of the form by following these links:

We also encourage you to review your obligations under the FCRA. The text of the statute is available at: http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/031224fcra.pdf.
