You will no longer need paper forms to submit a report on your problem renters. That is because the Residential Occupancy Performance Report (ROPR) is now available online. The name change from “Problem Renter Database” to “Residential Occupancy Performance Report” is due to the fact that you may now also submit information on your good tenants. This will help them in the future, by expediting their applications for tenancy. Positive reports also reduce your burden when contacted for a reference in the future. Any positive reports you submit on your tenants will remain in our system indefinitely, while those reflecting negative experience will only be accessible for 7 years. There is never a charge for entering this information.
As you know, many problem renters never make it to the eviction stage. That is because they are either asked to leave, or the threat of court action by itself is enough to make them leave. Without this type of reporting system (and your active participation in it) the problem renter continues to make problems for others in the future.
